We are a group of passionate young people fundraising for a new educational charity called The Difference which looks to support those children with chaotic home lives, mental health challenges and learning difficulties and prevent their exclusion from mainstream education. The Charity has come about through research that was conducted into exclusion rates, pupil referral units and links to today's prison population. In other words, The Difference exists to bring the best in education to children that need it most. FunDMC is the name of our fundraising group and with an overall fundraising target of £2000 we have been engaged in a variety of activities over the last 5 months or so to raise awareness and funds for this cause and the work the charity is doing. With 1 month remaining to reach out target, we have been taking every opportunity to engage in exciting, tough and worthwhile fundraising events including; climbing the 3 Yorkshire Peaks in under 12 hours on Saturday 17th February, running the Brighton Half Marathon on Sunday 25th February, signing up to tough mudders and sponsored walks and organising charity bake sales to name but a few.
