Why a Defibrillator?
We would like the support of Parents, Public, Community & Businesses to help us raise £1200.00 for our own on site Mobile Club Defibrillator.
Futsal being a high intensity fast paced game and the fact that we haven't had any of our players heart screened and do not know their full medical history, we would like to raise the funds to purchase a Defibrillator ASAP so our duty of care to our players is fulfilled.
I personally have first hand experience of losing a dear friend (Matt Gadsby -)to cardiac arrest while playing football and do not want to ever be in the position of happening to any of our players.
I use to travel daily with Matt to Forest Green Rovers FC and really got to know a funny caring lad, we both left FGR but still kept in touch, I was playing for Stafford Rangers and Matt was with Hinckley United when this tragedy happened and without any notice Matt suffered a severe cardiac arrest on the pitch and died, he was the fittest lad I had the pleasure playing the game with and he was the last person you could imagine would suffer from this condition.
A cardiac arrest happens when your heart stops pumping blood around your body.
If someone has suddenly collapsed, is not breathing normally and is unresponsive, they are in cardiac arrest.
There is no time to lose. Even if you are untrained your actions can help.
What Causes Cardiac Arrest
The most common cause of a cardiac arrest is a life threatening abnormal heart rhythm called ventricular fibrillation (VF).
Ventricular fibrillation happens when the electrical activity of your heart becomes so chaotic that the heart stops pumping and quivers or 'fibrillates' instead.
So please for the Memory of Matt and for the protection of our young players please donate what you can via our Defibrillator Fundraising Page
