When my 55k charity run on 21 April was cancelled I looked around for something else to do and was told about The Anniversary Waltz fell race. I have never competed in a fell race before and haven't competed at all for over 2yrs, however when I looked into this race further I found it was to raise funding and awareness into Motor Neurone Disease (MND). This race was set up by a couple as a unique way to celebrate their anniverary. The husband had was diagnosed with MND in 2015 and this race became a way to help raise awareness. Sadly he lost his battle and passed away in January of this year meaning this will be the last ever Anniverary Waltz event. The event covers 11miles and over 4000ft of ascent and takes in the beautiful views of the Newlands Valley Horseshoe.

A few months ago I wouldn’t have known much about this condition, but sadly just a couple of months ago a close family friend, who I’ve always called my “second dad” was diagnosed with this awful condition. He’s my dad’s long term fishing partner, a wonderfully selfless man and someone who has worked tirelessly to improve their local fishery for the benefit of many people. Him and his lovely wife are the nicest people you could ever hope to meet, so I would like to raise funds towards research into this horrible disease so that one day there may be a cure.

I know people are always after sponsorship money so I appreciate this isn't always possible, however anything at all would be greatly appreciated.
The event is on 21st April and I will post updates along the route if I can. This will be an extremely tough challenge for me but I feel it was meant for me. From the event being held on the same date as my original challenge, we run (maybe climb) up Robinson's hill, and of course the cause!
