    Story

Debra Drew who, in August 2014 on Woolacombe beach, went to the aid of young boy struggling to stay afloat in the rip tide. Deb saved the boy but in so doing was nearly drowned herself. She was pulled from the water by the RNLI and air lifted to Barnstaple Hospital.

During the early weeks following the incident, the prognosis was bleak and chances of recovery, slim. Debra stabilised and after many months a place was secured for her at Moseley Hall Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit. Over the past 16 months, Debra has undergone extensive physiotherapy and several operations on her hands, feet and neck in order to improve her movement. She has recovered a huge part of her neurological function and her lovely personality remains intact.

Debra faces a long road ahead with gruelling physio, occupational, speech and language therapy and neurological treatment. Throughout this difficult time, Deb has shown her trade mark determination and dedication to the rehabilitation work required.
Debra’s aim is to be back home by Christmas 2017. To facilitate this, a wheelchair that will enable Debra to stand and operate on her own is under consideration. The purpose of the Deb Drew Fund in the short term is to raise funds to acquire this fantastic product which could dramatically change Deb’s life for the better.

In return for your generous donation to Deb's cause, you will be entered in to our prize raffle for a 3 night stay in a luxurious converted railway wagon at Yorkshire Wolds Glamping - www.yorkshire-wolds.org.uk . Every £1 = 1 raffle ticket with no limit on the number of tickets that you can buy (eg £10 = 10 tickets). Our wagons sleep up to 4 people (2 adults, 2 children) with a double bed and small double bunk, an en suite toilet, wood burning stove, comfortable chairs, electricity and other home comforts. Your 3 night stay must be taken before 31st December 2018 and is only valid for weekdays including Sunday-Thursdays and is not valid for school holidays.
