    Story

    * 05-05-2020 Update - For the attention of all the people who have kindly donated to our just Giving page. We are currently struggling on to fund this initiative ourselves due to the fact that Just Giving are still holding on to the funds we/you have raised. Please see the new pictures from last week and the kind donation of a free van to help us pick up produce and ingredients and then deliver the meals to those in need.

For the last few weeks we have been preparing, cooking and delivering free meals to the most vulnerable people and families in our community and across the city. Up to now we have funded this initiative with the help of family and a handful of friends but mainly out of our own pocket. Due to the vast need we have experienced and the fact that there is still a long way to go with lockdown, we want to continue with this vital initiative. We want to continue to support the people and families who have been asking for and needing our help. We want to offer these families hearty home cooked meals that will not only be good for them health wise but will also be good for morale during this tough time. We are currently supporting over 50 families and the number is growing every day.

At the request of Just Giving

    * The Just Giving funding we have achieved will be used to continue to produce free meals for the most vulnerable in society during the Covid-19 crisis. Currently we have been self funded for the last 5 weeks.

We aim to make thousands of meals over the coming weeks at a cost of c£1.50 per meal.

We will be using the local Butchers (G.H. Davidson) and local vegetable suppliers as well as cash and carries for all our ingredients and these providers deliver to our door. We have our own deliver service which adheres to the government heath and safety regulations. We also have partners who deliver our produce to their clients and they too follow the governments health and safety protocol.

Another busy week over and thanks to everyone who has been so kind and supported us. We are still waiting on Just Giving to release the money you have helped raise. This has made life very hard but we have bent over backwards to keep running without a break in service. It is important that all the people in the community we are helping get consistant support. To many this is a lifeline and we hope that Just Giving come good and get this resolved quickly. To date we've helped 63 families with up to 20 of these being helped regularly. Thank you!
