Hi, first off I’d like to say thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page for my new prosthetic arm, it means a lot that you have taken a little bit of time already to read about my goals!

Back in year of accident following an accident at work I was left with a trip to hospital to try and save my arm, unfortunately after initial attempts didn’t work, the arm was amputated just below my elbow. Over the years I have been lucky enough to receive a few upgrades on the NHS to try and improve my overall quality of life, as well as to keep me able to both work, and have the best use of both limbs.

As time has passed I have ran out of upgrade, just because my upgrades have stopped doesn’t mean that the innovative world of prosthetics has grinded to a halt, in fact since my last upgrade incredible advances have been taken and amazing products have been created which have seen many children and adults in my position be able to live a better life after the hand they have been dealt (excuse the pun!)

I am incredibly grateful for what I have been able to receive since the accident, and I am in no means complaining that I have to fund further upgrades for myself, I have been able to live and work and enjoy life through the initial support of the NHS and carrying on, the support, love and care of my family and friends, I couldn’t thank anyone enough for what they have already done.

OpenBionics are a company that you may well have seen before, often going viral online for the work they carry out to improve the lives of children and adults which their 3D printed limbs. Unfortunately, I am unable to put up the money to be able to buy one for myself and that is why I have turned to my family, friends and the community around me to help me gain the prosthetic that I know would greatly improve my ability to live life as if I was as able bodied as I used to be.

I understand that asking for help to raise such an amount of money may come across strange for something which would only benefit me, and I understand that some may not wish ‘lend a hand’ for those who have already donated, thank you, it isn’t possible to put into words how much I appreciate your support. Finally, I’d like to once again say thank you for reading my story and my goals and considering lending your support.
