Please can you help me and my family give my mum the send off she deserves.

I didnt really want to ask anyone for help but due to the fact my mums life insurance has screwed her over and only offered £210 we are struggling to find the money to give her the send off she so rightly deserves.

In the last year my mum's health started declining more so than usual. She already lived with COPD, Ischaemic Heart Disease with severe regional wall motion abnormalities and Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia however she never complained and still continued to care for her husband who was left paralysed and brain damaged from a stroke seven years ago.

A few months ago she started to get severe abdominal pains, unable to eat, suffering with diorreah and vomiting resulting in massive weight loss. She contacted the doctors who put the severe abdominal pains down to her heart tablets being too strong. She persisted to carry on with normal life however the pain did not subside. She was taken to A&E in June and simply given blood tests and an x-ray. Refused a scan due to bloods being "fine" and was sent home with pain relief and advised to stop the heart tablets all together and follow up with her GP.

On Saturday 12th August mum was rushed to hospital by ambulance, seen in recuss, then transferred to A&E where she had yet another x-ray and bloods taken and because the bloods showed an infection this time they requested for the surgeons to assess for a possible scan. Eventually they did scan which identified an obstruction in her bowel. She needed to have an emergency operation but due to her poor health this was postponed for a few days due to her only having a 7% chance of surviving the anestetic. The strong lady that she was she survived having had 70% of her bowel removed and stoma bag put in place. Seemed as though she was getting on the mend only to be told days later after another scan that the rest of her bowel had also died and she had only hours to a few days to live.

Had the hospital given my mum a scan when the pain first started she may still be with us today. As you can imagine my family and close friends are devastated with the loss of a wonderful caring wife, mother, sister, friend and grandmother and she will be missed by so many.
