    Story

As many of you know I have three children, two of them have special needs and life long health conditions. Life can be very testing, exhausting and at points, a rather lonely place. Everybody needs time to breath, re-charge and also spend time with their other family members but it is so hard, which is where Windchimes comes in. This amazing centre offers short term overnight stays, not only offering a safe, fun, loving and caring environment for the child staying there, meeting all their medical needs but also with the family at home, the parent/parents and siblings, a break. Time to stop, knowing your child is having the best time, with people who you trust and know will care for your child. A sense of calm. Windchimes and their families need all the support they can get, they will always need the support from fundraising nutters like us, every penny goes into the centre, Windchimes has been and will continue to be my lifeline.

And for this, I feel i want to push through some tough challenges to raise money for them. I‘m not going to ask for individual sponsorship for each event, so i’ve set this page up for a year, to list all the events i am aiming to complete and train for, this fundraising page will be for ALL of my challenges.

2nd marathon done in 5 days! Was a tough one mentally as struggled to go from being a mummy to a runner within an hour of each other Thursday morning! But I did it, 4 hours and 20 mins, 6 mins slower than the first but I still did it! Thank you everyone again for your support! Next one, 9th March!

So, yesterday I did my first of four marathons in four weeks. It felt comfortable and I fuelled just right. To see the day wake along the coast it’s a gorgeous sunrise was beautiful and although this was my own marathon, people along route were so kind and encouraging! Especially the lady who helped take a gel out of my pack on my back. Next marathon is in 4 days, so ice baths, rest but keeping moving and still being mum!

Managed a few training sessions, hitting the streets and metafits, feeling very comfortable out there, any marathon twinges I had went within 24 hours, the fuelling for the training is also going well. I won’t lie, I’m tired, todays run, 7.1 miles took my all, body and head exhausted so once that run was finished I had to pop to bed, waved the white flag for a power nap! It’s all a reminder of what us families, what I have to do solo 24/7 for our amazing kids, it’s taken its toll on me the last few weeks. Windchimes, you are our lifeline!! X
