Story
2019 marks 20 years in business for Destination Southampton Conference Bureau. To celebrate, Shirley and the team are challenging themselves to do 20 activities during the year to give back to the community in some form or another. We will update this with our plans as we go.
Some activities will be to part take in charitable events, and for this we would love your support and donations to show your encouragement and to give on to the various charities we are supporting.
We ...
- Took part in Street Sleep - we layered up to sleep in a cardboard box in Guildhall Square 15th March in the wind and rain, in aid of the YMCA - vulnerable people
- Volunteered at the Southampton Common Spring clean on 7th April 2019
- Dusted off our walking boots for the "Alternative" Bluebell Walk 28th April, 10am, in aid of the Murray Parish Trust at Manor Farm Country Park (as the actual Bluebell walk sold out in record time!)
- hosted a quiz night - Tuesday 16th July - we raised £450 off line at this event, taking our total to £905.00
