Story
In December 2017 I found out my good friend and openwater swimming buddy Jody had been diagnosed with bowel & liver cancer. Jody is 39 years old and has two gorgeous young girls Elsa & Maddie. She spent part of Christmas in hospital undergoing surgery to remove a large section of bowel and is currently recieving chemotherapy. She has a long journey ahead including further surgery & is determined to beat this vile disease.
Jody was due to swim the English Channel in August this year but is now unable so myself and 5 others are going to swim it for her. 3 weeks later I plan to complete Ironman Vichy (2.4 mile swim/112 mile bike/26.2 mile run) in under 16 hours. My goal is to raise as much money as I can to enable Jody and her family to have a well deserved break together when she has completed her treatment.
