My son was born with an extremely rare chromosome disorder called trisomy 9 mosaicism. He is one of only about 150 people worldwide with this.

To name a few ways he is affected, he suffers from seizures, has hydrocephalus, nystagmus, low tone, hypermobility, he can not yet walk unaided, tires very easily and is non verbal.

He is rapidly outgrowing his present car seat, but at his weight he would need a group 3 car seat. The standard seats are unsuitable, he needs a seat with more support and a 5 point harness to offer him a decent level of protection (mainly due to the hypermobility, low tone and hydrocephalus)

His current buggy is no longer suitable for his needs. As he cannot walk unaided as yet, the buggy provides us with much needed independence and makes it possible to involve my son in everyday events, even a walk to the shop is made possible.

It has been questioned as to if he could suffer seizures in the night time. A special mat alarm can detect such seizures thereby alerting us when they happen so we can be there for him when he needs us.

My son is a smiley, sociable and determined little 4 year old who just wants to live life like his sister's and friends. He has a big heart and is an inspiration to everyone who knows him. Doctors told us we would lose him in pregnancy. We didn't. Doctors told us he would never walk. He is getting stronger and stronger every day and can now cruise between furniture. His determination knows no bounds.
What he has been through already in his short life is more than most of us will in a lifetime, if we can help make his life that little bit easier, safer and more comfortable, that's my hopes and wishes come true.
