    Story

The Owl Tree Cafe is a Community Interest Company founded on the principles of parental support and community and we want to encourage parents in the North East to support other parents by buying or contributing to a craft pack, that they are unlikely otherwise to be able to afford.

During the 1st Lockdown, we wrote a book - well its really a 12 topic plan for entertaining and helping your toddler to learn through play at home. In lockdown #2 and #3 we have been selling LOADS of these books and craft packs to families across the UK. The feedback has been PHENOMENAL , with all of you saying just how helpful it has been.

We purchased a reward and challenge box yesterday from The Owl Tree Children’s Cafe and it is well worth the money. We did songs and we could have linked in story time too. So good for lock down and rainy days. There is so much more we can do from this box all for £20!!! "

Definitely recommend getting one to get through lockdown with your little one. Well done to everyone involved in the creation of this brilliant resource.”

“We are enjoying this craft box so much! The girls absolutely love the crafts as well as singing along on YouTube. 🎶🎤.They’re engaging for both Gabby (5) and Imogen (1) at the same time. Hats off to The Owl Tree Children’s Café for such a great idea to help parents through Covid. 👏🥇"

Our craft boxes come with everything you will need to complete over 24 crafts in the box*. All crafts and activities are linked to our online song sessions and we have recorded the songs per topic so they are easily accessible (and free to watch).

The booklet comes with a pull out A3 poster and stickers so that once each topic is completed, you can add an owl sticker to your tree. Each pack is suitable for a range of ages and can be used for up to 2 children.

It is essentially an early years homeschooling tool, a way of stimulating and engaging your child, helping them to explore topics and develop many key skills.

We have had a few people buy boxes for friends as gifts and a couple of lovely generous folk ask if they can buy one for a family who couldn't otherwise afford one. This is a the fantastic community spirit that we LOVE at the Owl Tree Café so we are asking if anyone wants to buy a box or contribute towards a box, we will produce as many as we can to meet demand.

We have set a goal of 25 boxes (but are happy to exceed this if demand is there). That's 25 families who will have several days / weeks worth ideas and activities for their children. The criteria for being a recipient will be that you have one or more children under the age of 5 and that your family would benefit from a free box. We are not asking for proof of need but will assess each application based on honest info provided.

The Owl Tree Cafe will cover the cost of delivery. For those in our local area we will safely deliver to a doorstep, for those outside of the local area we will cover the £4.95 postal charge.

We will also be popping in one of our positive parenting affirmation cards to reinforce the fact that these boxes are a gift from one parent to another and we are all doing an AMAZING job in the current circs!

A full box costs £20 but a donation of £10 or £5 or whatever you can afford will go a long way to getting as many of these boxes to people as possible.

*we do assume some basic household items such as scissors and toilet roll tubes
