    Story

On December 12th 2017, we lost our Dad, Alan suddenly. He passed away in his sleep while on the train to his regular volunteer work for the Methodist Church as a member of the Methodist Ministers' Housing Society. Dad's Funeral & Thanksgiving Service will take place from 2 p.m. on Friday 5th January, 2018 at Wesley Methodist Church, Cambridge. We have a letter from Dad listing his final wishes for his funeral service, and in that letter he has asked that instead of flowers being bought, donations should be placed for the Methodist Ministers' Housing Society.

A Methodist Minister himself for 30 years, my Dad found himself being supported by the MMHS in his retirement. They provided him with a low-rent apartment which had been his home for 10 years.

We are asking for your generous donations for this group, to continue the work they do helping support Methodist Ministers and their families especially in times of need.

Dear all, We are very proud of the support and generosity everyone has shown with donations towards the MMHS in Dad's name. We have been touched by the messages of love and support from everyone, as well as hearing from people who were friends of Dad's for such along time. Thank you to everyone. We will make sure this money reaches the MMHS in Dad's name on your behalf. From there it will be most certainly put to very good use in service of the Church, which we know Dad loved and cherished to his very core. From Rachel, David and Paul.

Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. We have had £775 donated from 28 people, which is 155% of our total we asked for, so this is amazing. There are still a few days left till the end of our campaign on Jan 31st...so please give generously...with much love, Rachel, David and Paul.

Alan was a lovely man. Just loved him and his humour. Our last email exchange took place in September last year. I spoke to him at the Welcome Service for the new Chair of Northants, Helen Cameron.
