Liz Sideway is 63 years old and has always worked and raised a family. She has 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren. On 17 th may Liz went into af ( artirial fiberlation ) causing a blood clot to form on the brain which in turn caused a major acute stroke. She was unconscious when found and taken to Russell's hall hospital where doctors and nurses administered life saving treatment that unfortunately didn't work. She was then rushed to the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham with a crash team who then operated immediately from the groin to the brain to remove the blood clot. Liz's devastated family were then told that there the chance of her coming round was slim and that she was in a very critical state. She has however made an amazing slow recovery hour by hour to where we are today, but sadly due to fact her and husband Dave both work, no help is available to get the bathroom changed so she can have a shower. She has right side weakness and speech problems along with memory problems which we don't know if they will improve or not. Husband Dave is giving up work aug to take full time care of her.
Liz is a much loved member of the community who has always put others before herself. She is kind, caring and one of a kind and anyone who knows her will agree.
We aim to raise enough money so as liz doesn't have to struggle with things that the rest of us take for granted. You never know how lucky you are until something like this happens.
