Hi there! We are Team Zebra which is a group part of the National Citizen Service (NCS) We are working together with the Emmanu'-EL Apostolic Gospel Academy (EAGA) AKA De Montfort University Choir based in Saffron Lane. Around the area, there are not many places for today's youths to go as many community centres have been shutting down. So EAGA has decided to turn an old aged building into a warm and welcoming community centre for the youngsters of today.

The building, which used to be a Gentleman's club for over 100 years will need the funds to transform. The Gospel Academy is not funded by the government or any other parties hence it is aiming to fundraise over £100 000 to create a place for young people to call their own. EAGA aims to hold extra revision classes to help improve the future of the young generation. As we are now living in a world filled with technology EAGA aims to teach children how to code so that they keep with the flow of technology. They also intend to create a relaxation room for those youngsters who find school stressful and need a quiet and therapeutic place to wind down.

So as a team, it is in our best interest to support EAGA to build a better community. We plan to help in renovating the community centre along side raising funds for EAGA and the charities they support (Age UK, Rainbows, and The Red Cross). As EAGA is a Gospel Academy, we also plan to fundraise through music as we feel it is such a positive and uplifting manner to connect with people and it clearly resonates our aims. Love is the best way to fix things so this is how we aim to fundraise, along with a range of activities and events it would be great to make a change.
