On September 7th, the putney and wood dream team will yet again, be donning their lycra, to support Ava.

This years challenge is a 240 mile bike ride through East Anglia. Setting off from Cromer in Norfolk and finishing in Ramsden Heath, Essex, on sunday 9th september.

Ava is 10 years old. She has cerebral palsy, dislocated hips, complex uncontrolled epilepsy and she's blind. her conditions are classes as life threatening and life limiting. Despite all her battles she's incredibly happy, is always giggling and dancing and loves life. Ava has always worked very hard to be the best she can possibly be. She has endured years of gruelling physiotherapy, just to enable her to gain a fraction of the skills that able bodied children learn naturally.

we are fundraising for the things that enrich her life, the things that make her happy but due to her complex needs are often very costly. Music therapy is a magical gift for a child like Ava. When she's well it excites her, stimulates her senses, makes her dance and enables her to communicate in the most magical and beautiful ways. When she's poorly it calms and relaxes her and takes her off to a safe place where the pain melts away.

Bowen therapy has helped immeasurably with pain management and injuries she's sustained whilst seizuring. It's a gentle pain free alternative therapy that helps realign her system and we've seen it work wonders when she been screaming in pain.

holidays and days out are very difficult. Ava has to work very hard to fit in in a world that doesn't understand her. Mainstream activities are totally inaccessible and mean nothing to her and we often have to fund a carer to come with us. Specialist holidays and the cost of travel insurance and hiring equipment to enable her to go on holidays, can be huge and yet making memories and making every day count, is so very important to us all.

Any money raised will go towards making sure Ava has more happy days than sad and will give us magical moments with our little ray of sunshine.
