The Eastern Cape expedition aims to take a group of Glasgow based university students to South Africa to learn about and actively take part in the conservation and community work that makes this province so successful when it comes to wildlife conservation. We aim to demonstrate how nurturing the local communities who are so intrinsic to the preservation of this countries unique natural heritage is of paramount importance to successful conservation efforts.

The activities we are hoping to fund raise for include the following;

Replacement of telemetry tracking collars on a pride of lions.

Sponsoring a rhino tracking anklet to aid in anti-poaching efforts.

Improving hygiene facilities at a local school to reduce the incidence of ill health and disease.

Creating a recycling initiative in a local township.

Carrying out a spay and neuter clinic for local domestic animals and parasite control for subsistence livestock herds.

Build kennels for local township dogs to prevent over-breeding and disease spread into wildlife populations.
