I am trying to raise money to help toward my 5 week placement abroad May/June 2018.

The money raised will be going towards several things:

Helping towards costs of my travel and living during the 5 weeks and the remainder goes to the charity/programme I will be volunteering with.

I have been accepted onto the experiential learning programme as part of my degree with the University of Chester. I now have just under a year to raise a minimum of £2000. In September the charity will officially accept me as one of their volunteers on their programme. The programme I have signed up for is to work/learn in Malawi which is run by the VMM.

UNTIL THE CHARITY OFFICIALLY ACCEPTS ME AS PART OF THEIR TEAM, I PLEDGE THAT ALL MONEY RAISED WILL GO TO THE CHARITY/PROGRAMME THAT I WILL BE SELECTED FOR. (THIS WILL DEFINITELY BE A CHARITY/PROGRAMME BASED IN THE AFRICAN COMMUNITY.)

For many years this has been my goal to do a placement abroad and help and work with others within a developing country.

VMM offer volunteer placements in northern Malawi in Mzuzu which focus on, children's education, climate change, HIV Projects, child protection, food security and youth programmes. Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world, with a government education system sorely lacking in both funds, healthcare and teachers.

This is an incredible, once in a lifetime opportunity in which I hope to learn, love, experience, help and grow in. I believe my contribution along with my team will be invaluable for the people I will have the pleasure to be working with, and I think what I will gain from them will too be invaluable. I believe my past experiences, skills and knowledge has made me a perfect candidate for this placement and I can only hope I do all you supporters proud!
