I'm a first year university student and I've joined a trip to the Pacaya-samiria National Reserve as a research assistant with an organisation called Operation Wallacea. The trip is focused on biodiversity and conservation. It involves monitoring several indicator species to investigate the impacts of global climate change. The trip is for one month, which involves a one week course training all volunteers. Arriving in Peru on the 8th July and coming back 5th August 2017.

The information generated from the expeditions goes into creating effective management strategies working with organisations in Peru.

The £500 will be spent on helping with costs toward Operation Wallacea, flights, kit, vaccinations and internal travel.
