Gemma was a well-loved and key member of the EDGE team who sadly passed away in June 2018, aged just 41, following a 15-month battle with cancer.

It goes without saying that as a business we were and still are, devastated by the loss of Gemma and we want to make sure she is always remembered.

To this end, we have created ‘The Petrie Challenge’ and committed to undertaking a number of challenges each year to raise money for a worthy cause in Gemma’s memory.

2019 Challenges

Our first challenge is the Coast to Coast Cycle over 3 days 9-12 May. This is a tough 136 mile ride from Workington on the West coast through the Lake District, over the Pennines and finally downhill in to Tynemouth! The team is a mixed bag of experienced cyclists through to non-cyclists who have all committed to the challenge and are training hard to make our first fund-raising effort a success!

Later in the year there’s some competitive eating on the cards with our ‘eggs-on-toast’ eating challenge and finally in November, for anyone brave enough we’re taking part in the Dovedale Dash!
