hello my name is elia and im 13.My family are having a very hard time at the moment , my grandad was diagnosed with parkinsons disease in 2007 and diagnosed with dementia in 2011 but this summer he wad taken to a care home in Blackpool
my mum was diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease when she was 18 and as the result of her treatment was then diagnosed with heart disease in 2015 which meant she had to have a triple bypass and an artificial valve replacement in February that year , then again as the result of radiotherapy she was in 2016 diagnosed with breast cancer .
I felt like all of a sudden i had to grow up , i am really grateful to cancer care as they are providing me with counselling and helping me with my issues .Before cancer care i had to keep my problems to myself as my mum and dad are split up and I didn't want to speak to my mum about it and worry her .
I have set myself a goal to help all those who have helped me and my family so by the end of this year i am going to try and raise 10,000 pounds to share with the four charity's that support me and im hoping that some of you can help me im am already looking at doing lots of events .
One day we will beat cancer and hopefully a way to help with Parkinson's !!!
