    Story

Hi i just want to thank you from the depths of my heart for viewing and aiding my current situation. On the 30th July at 12.15am i had a major single car accident, due to the fact that 2 deers jumped out of the woods into the road in front of me as i came round the corner, resulting in me having to swerve and avoid them and subsequently colliding into a telegraph pole, ripping apart the side of my car and spinning me in the other direction. i feel blessed and protected by God that i have come away with only a few small injuries.

I’m Elijah, I am 21 years old, I am a christian, and live out each day serving god, loving people and chasing my dreams. I've had a hard start to life and this year is the first year I have been able to really be independent and not be a huge burden to my family. I have so much planned for the near future and beyond that requires me to travel. Where I live has no transport links and the nearest station is a 15/20 min drive from my house or a 2 hour walk.

My dreams and aspirations for the near future will not come to be a reality if I have no form of transport to get to them. My dreams are playing professional footballer. Right now I am a semi professional and it’s something that is a very close reality to me. I have been plagued by injury in the last 3 years and this season is my first season that I am 100% fit. The team I play for and train with is a 45-60 mins drive from home, and without a car and insurance the club will have to release me as I cannot get there.

My others dream are found in church. As I said before, I came from a rough past and God saved my life 4 years ago. Now I just want to give my life to serving Him in ministry. I want to change peoples lives through the immense love God has for them, bring people to faith and provide a space for them to have an everlasting and deep relationship with Him. I am incredibly passionate about social justice, in particular helping the homeless community back on their feet, bringing people out of poverty, crime, war zones and orphanages; I want to help have a new life, across the UK and all nations. I know I can do all these things. I am involved in these capacities in London and in Brighton; both of which are hours away which I normally get to with my car and the train. My life is outside of the small hamlet in Surrey and so, with no transport, I will not be able to continue to do all that I’m regularly a part of to further help me reach my goals.

You’re probably wondering why the target is so so high?! :)

Well, 3 years ago, on my birthday. I was convicted for driving over the alcohol limit. This was not intentional or a childish act where I knew I was drunk driving. I now don’t drink, a lifestyle choice I made! I stopped drinking at 10:30 but, alcohol stayed in my system longer than usual. I took a breathalyser at 3:30am, but I was stopped because my friends made our car looks suspicious. The officer himself said I don’t appear drunk at all, it was just bad luck. This situation could have been avoided but, now it’s something that’s will haunt my bank account for a very long time!

My car insurance is currently £4000 as a result of this, which is a stretch which motivated me to work so hard.

And by God’s grace my family have been able to help me cover what I cannot. Despite that being a discouraging experience for me, my desire to be a professional football player and my church life is the only reason why I got back on the road, but they’re really far away. Now with what just happened, completely out of my control, my premium’s going up even more, most likely more than my target but I cannot ask you for more. My family and i simply cannot afford it this time and were in desperate need of support. The funds are only to pay this year’s car insurance. :)

My future rests on this moment. I’ve prayed and prayed about this and I have HUGE faith in God, that he will provide for me through you incredible people. I thank you more than you can ever imagine. You’re all so loved and you lives be immensely blessed and filled with joy and prosperity.

Thank you for everything, you’re all lifesavers. :)

    Stay Blessed xx

    Elijah.
