Isabella has been blind since birth after being born 16 weeks premature. Weighing only 1lb 7oz when she arrived, she beat the odds and has grown into a strong, healthy and super-smart young girl, having recently started secondary school, and enjoying a real passion for books, drama and music.

Isabella learned to read and write at primary school on a Perkins Brailler, which is very similar to an old-fashioned typewriter. She is still using this for her homework now, but it isn't very efficient and doesn't have the capacity to produce the amount of work Isabella needs. Costing around £3,000, a portable electronic Brailler will allow her to work quicker, store and edit files and print out in Braille, and even convert her work straight into print to allow all her teachers to check her work on the spot instead of having to wait for someone else to do it. In short, it will enable her to keep up with all of her class mates and ultimately give her a better chance to fulfill her full potential, improving her future for life after school.

Isabella's dream is to be able to have an electronic Brailler at home for her school work, that doesn't weigh a tonne, and keep up with all of her sighted school friends.
