Some of you have already heard about or seen the atrocious mess left behind in Mum and Jeremy's home after Cavity Wall Insulation was mis-sold to them and installed by Mark Group. They not only put the insulation into a utterly unsuitable property by convincing an elderly lady this would in no doubt save them money but it was also installed badly leaving voids and they failed to fill correctly afterwards.
I have been fighting for 2 years now to get some sort of redress for thier property that they saved for and dreamt about for years.
Their house has been left in a shocking condition both internally and externally with damage made to four rooms of the house plus the hall and landing. Two of these rooms cannot be used anymore as they are thick with mould, rotting wood and damaged and dangerous electrics. There is plaster falling off the walls and ceilings throughout the house and it has damaged curtains and carpets irrecoverably. All of these rooms need re-plastering, re-wiring, woodwork replacing, decorating, soft furnishings replaced and the outside of the property needs re-rendering on two walls.
As Mark Group went bust we can no longer turn to them for compensation. We are trying to get things put right by CIGA, the Cavity insulation guarentee agency but 2 years on we have only achieved getting the insulation removed.
CIGA has a limit of 20 thousand pounds for compensation but as all our quotes have reached over £34,000 (which doesn't include the cost of scaffolding needed or soft furnishings that need replacing) obviously leaves us very short.
They have been left in a disgusting and devastating position and are in need of help.
This pair have always gone out of thier way to help anyone and everyone in thier paths. Between them they have served in the army, policed the streets, guarded the North Cornwall coastline and raised a family.
Please help me to help them get this cold, wet and mouldy bundle of bricks back to a home, thier beautiful home. X
