My son Alex, 10, has suddenly developed a severe condition called PANDAS, where the immune system attacks the brain. The consequences are tragic for him and the whole family. PANDAS stands for Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder after Streptoccocuss infection.

Unfortunately, PANDAS is not recognized by the NHS ( although it is recognized by the World Health Organisation), and only 10% of GPs are aware of this condition, which means that I had to start private treatment for Alex, which can run into many thousands of pounds. It includes private tests, MRI scan, visits to specialists, like neurologist, Pediatrician specializing in PANDAS, supplements etc. to minimize the inflammation in the brain.
