Story
In July 2018, I plan to go to Busia, Kenya to help teach in Mama Orphan's Home for Children, alongside one Ben Moore, another teaching student at Aberdeen University.
The orphanage was started in 1996 when Monica Oduor, a long time resident of Busia, took in six young boys who had lost their parents to AIDS and had been living alone on the streets of Busia. The orphanage now houses around 136 young people ranging from ages 0-18. Originally, Monica housed the children in her own home but has now expanded to having dorms for all of the children.
Anything that you are able to give helps to get volunteers like myself to the orphanage in order to help ensure that the orphans in the orphanage get a good education and are able to develop their skills.
