I am a final year medical student from the University of Southampton travelling to Malawi in March with the World Medical fund. The World Medical fund is a UK based charity which sends doctors and healthcare professional's to Sub Saharan Africa where they aim to provide treatment to children across the continent. I will be volunteering with other doctors in a travelling paediatric clinic who see and treat as many as 200 sick children a day. I will be involved in examining children with various ailments, giving medication when required, referring to the local larger hospitals and travelling operating theatre. In order to take part in this amazing opportunity the charity are asking for a £500 donation which will go towards helping pay for the resources required to treat the children.
