I have been given the opportunity to go Kisumu, near Lake Victoria in Kenya from the 21st of July until the 30th with a charity called Footsteps. On this trip, I will be giving disadvantaged children the chance to play games and learn different things . Not only that, but I will be helping them with their education. During this trip, I will also be shown their simple but vital medical facilities. In order to go on this trip, I need to raise 1800 pounds. To try and raise this, my friend, Emi, and I are cycling from Oxford to her home, which is roughly 60 miles away. We will be doing this in one day, staying at her home and the cycling back the next day. This will be 120 miles in 2 days. This will be tough, as I have never cycled this far in my life! However, it is 100% worth it. I will be training intensely for the next 5 months to prepare myself for this challenge; in the gym and on the roads. This will be a massive milestone in my fundraising, so please, if you can, sponsor us on this cycle of a life time and help me get out to Kenya to help make these children happy! If more than 1800 is raised, the remainder will go towards buying crafty items for me to take out there for the children to enjoy.
