I’m a 19-year-old scout leader of a local cub group in Redditch, I have recently had my place confirmed to attend the 15th World Scout Moot 2017 which is going to be held in Iceland.
In order for me to attend this once in a lifetime trip I am aiming to raise around £2500 which will cover the costs of the event, flights, programme opportunities, accommodation as well as my ‘change’ goal.

This opportunity has been brought to me through my role in scouting and it has been a dream all my life for me to be able to visit Iceland and so for me to be able to attend it will be a wish come true. I will be truly thankful for even the smallest amount of help in order to get me there.
Therefore, I am writing to you to request that it may be possible for you to help me on my journey for this once in a lifetime trip. Any support will be included in all press that I do as part of my fundraising in order to say thank you for your help as it is incredible people like you that are the ones that help dreams to come true. I have plans to hold raffles, auctions and other events in the future leading up to my trip so this as well as sponsorship will help greatly.

In my own way of saying thank you and in order to give back to my community part of the over £2000 I raise will go as a donation to 1st Matchborough Scout Group to say thank you for the opportunities that scouting has given me throughout my life and also to try and help another young person have the same opportunities as I have had from this extraordinary organisation. I have chosen to do this as my ‘change’ which is a key part of the trip and based around Iceland. I have chosen this as when I first started fundraising looking at going from £0 to £1700 plus additional costs for post events was extremely daunting and so I want to raise an additional £300 to help start the next young person from my group in their journey to an incredible life changing event like this one.
