Our lovely friend Cole has Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, sometimes known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Chronic Fatigue is a huge understatement. This is a neurological disorder causing intense fatigue, cognitive problems such as mental fog, issues with nerve tissues and lack of balance.

Cole has had ME for four years, though it has degenerated somewhat recently. Thus their sometimes stumbly walking and occasional chair pushing has given way to need for independence through the WONDERS OF TECHNOLOGY. Sadly, this is not a giant Godzilla mecha suit (though we aren't ruling that out if it becomes an option). Instead, funds need to be found for a battery powered wheelchair to allow Cole to leave the house unaided, and do things that many of us take for granted, like popping into the kitchen for a cuppa.

A powered chair of the type they need costs about £1,500. This is considered "cheap" for such things, and isn't a custom made job. Cole doesn't qualify for a grant or loan for this, but even rummaging down the back of the sofa hasn't produced a spare 1.5 grand to just pop out and buy one.

So that's where you come in. They don't feel comfortable asking people to help, directly, in case it makes people uncomfortable and alienates friends. But I did check it's okay to sort this crowd funder. So, let's see what we can do.

We might not get the full £1500, but it all helps. If you might buy Cole a drink, consider chucking a few quid here instead. If you want to buy them a drink too, that's a bonus.
