On the 13th of October at I was rushed to theatre and gave birth to our beautiful little girl, Emily Joy Watkins by emergency C-section at 3:56am

She was born not breathing and although they managed to get a heartbeat she was unable to breathe on her own. Due to lack of oxygen she suffered from multiple organ failure and on the 14th October we made the decision to turn the life support machine off.

Over the time we spent in the hospital John, Emily and I were provided with absolutely amazing care and support which would not have been possible without the Friends of the Baby Unit. It's the hardest thing we've ever had to go through but the midwives, nurses and consultants all worked tirelessly to help us through it. To thank them for everything they did for all of us we are asking everyone to donate as little or as much as they can spare so that other family's in our position can continue to receive this level of care.
