Further to the very sad news over the weekend that Darren Chamberlain had tragically passed away, the Coveris Gainsborough ‘family’ have requested that we start a collection for Darren.

Following the briefing this morning with the Shift Managers / Team Leaders etc. they have asked that as a mark of respect, the £250 that would have been spent celebrating 200+ days without lost time injury on site is added into the collection for Darren, which I am sure you will all agree is a very touching and fitting gesture given that Darren was a significant part of that achievement. This has therefore kick started the collection process.

Both Paul and I will be in communication with Dale, Darren’s brother later this week, and will speak to Dale regarding whether there will be flowers / donations etc. for the funeral arrangements once decided and will communicate details of confirmed arrangements to those that would like them. We will also discuss with Dale whether the family would like our donation to be given to a charity or indeed to a trust fund etc. for Darren’s girls who were very much the centre of his world.

Flowers have been sent today to Darren’s wife & girls, and also to Darren’s parents, and cards with all of our condolences have been sent.

In the meantime should anyone wish to donate, can I ask that you please ensure all monies are forwarded to the HR Department at Gainsborough. Any cheque payments should be made out to Coveris Flexibles (Gainsborough) UK Limited, we can then collate and send one donation payment to the chosen destination.

Please dig deep, whilst only being part of the Coveris Gainsborough team for a short period, Darren was well known across the business from his former Paragon days.

Darren has already made a huge impact, and left a legacy that we intend to continue to develop and will be sadly missed by all his colleagues at Gainsborough, he has left a big impression on all our hearts and our thoughts are very much with his family now and
