    Story

People across Enfield are rejecting proposals to build segregated cycle lanes along Green Lanes, Southbury Road, Hertford Road and in Enfield Town.

It’s not because residents are against cycling but because these are some of the most heavily used roads in our borough and already congested. Funnelling all vehicles into one lane will lead to worse congestion and more pollution. Every time a bus stops, a driver wants to turn right, or it’s bin day all other traffic will be forced to stop. A local business owner described it as "furring up the arteries of Enfield".

Enfield and TfL have ignored the wishes of thousands of local people along with the views of bus companies, churches, emergency services, schools, residents' associations, businesses and community groups.

Enfield Council say it will create a "Better Enfield", yet they did not tell residents that its own consultants warned that the cycle lanes will be bad for businesses, will cause more congestion and will not transform our local high streets!

The problems will go on long after the cycle lane construction has finished: delays, massive loss of parking, (including for blue badge holders), fewer crossings for pedestrians, unsafe bus stops, slower emergency response times, longer bus journeys and traffic gridlock.

This is because our roads are too narrow for segregated cycle lanes.

"Everyone, young and old alike, will benefit" Really?
    These 'benefits' are unsubstantiated.
    A Better Enfield For All?

All over London people are objecting to TfL’s cycle lane schemes. Join us and help stop the Enfield Mini Holland Mess. Help us halt the construction of these cycle lanes until there has been a full and independent inquiry into whether Enfield Mini Holland will truly benefit the majority of local people.

    Sadiq Khan listen to Enfield!

Save Our Enfield is an umbrella organisation of local campaigners against Enfield Mini Holland.

I wish my donation to go towards the legal fees required to bring Enfield Council to reverse this heinous cycle lane which is making our life hell.

I am a person with multiple disabilities and need to access services and businesses in Green Lanes by car. I am unable to walk or catch a bus to use these.

My children and I have to cross Green Lanes every day to go to and from school. I am disgusted with what Enfield Council has done to our home area. This is insane and I worry for the shops
