Next June I will be flying half way around the world to Chennai, Southern India where I have the opportunity to take part in a 3 week expedition. I have been chosen from a competitive selection process to be part of a 12 person team heading out to India next year.

I arrive in Chennai on the 28th of June where I will begin to work with the Elysiom slum project for 5 days. This project is run to help educate the less fortunate in the slums, teaching the children the basics helping them to move on in life. We will help by bringing out resources such as textbooks and stationary to help the quality of teaching. We will also be taking part in lessons helping teach and interact with the pupils. After this we will travel round to the other side of southern India to take part in a trek and a visit to the Mudumalai national park. This will give us a brilliant chance to experience the culture and surroundings of the region. To end the trip we will finish with a couple of days in some River boats getting the chance to rest and look back and what could be an amazing couple of weeks.
