Story
Hi everyone, my name is Eunice, I'm a resgistered nurse, a daughter, a wife and a mother of 3 lovely children. I feel blessed to have had all my children here in UK safe and sound but things could have been worse, if the situation regarding the birth of my first son had happened in Ghana ( both of us would have died due to luck of resources and special facilities for critical cases, my son and I came close to dying during the labour and things changed from normal to critical, therefore we rushed to theatre. With the help from expert health professional and good monitoring facilities to keep us alive we were both ok even though we had to stay in hospital for for a bit ans was discharged after a week. By God‘s grace, my son is now 10 years old.
The hospital in Kwadaso -Kumasi have great health professionals but very limited resources. When a baby is born and is critically ill, the neonatal unit currently has no incubator so the precious baby is kept on a carpentered made wooden area for resuscitation and to keep the baby warm.
That’s an unsell newly born baby rapped up in a green blanket Being kept warm Instead of being in an incubator.
I have such great joy for charity work, using the knowledge, experience and skills God has given me to help other, especially in health and well being. Now project Ghana 2018, is once again giving me the opportunity to go to Ghana with a group of young poeple to take up 2 big projects. 1) to renovate 1 community school and its library at Big Ada (Accra) and 2) to renovate the children/ neonatal / maternity units at Kwadaso SDA hospital. I will also take some items such as clothes, books, shoes, food and many more) to the chosen orphanages. we will conduct a free health screening programme and give health lectures in the local community for the local people. to support the project i want to raise funds to help buy this incubator so the babirs like the one rapped in the green blanket could have a safer environment to be cared for.
NOW I humbly need your help with donations in a form of money (mainly), clothes, educational books, medical equipment ( medical fridge, ultrasound scan, jaundice treatment lamp, etc), building and refurbishing items and stationaries.
Please join me to help by donating as much as you can and together, WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
