    Story

In March 2017 I will go to Uganda and spend 2,5 months volunteering for The Uganda School Project. From this fundraiser all money will go to the charity, and every penny counts! The charity is a non-profit organization, and everyone working with the charity are volunteers. This means that your money will go directly and solely to helping the poor communities of Uganda. The money will help fund projects such as sign language classes, a cataract surgical unit as well as the project I will be managing, our micro finance program. The micro finance program will help the locals to take out small loans in order to start their businesses. This is believed to be one of the best ways to fight poverty. Profits made from this project will be invested in the community and to further help local entrepreneurs.

    About the charity:
The Uganda School Project support struggling schools in Uganda. In 2016 TUSP began supporting Bumakenya Primary School in the beautiful Manafwa region, in Eastern Uganda. We put in place proper infrastructure which included: the installation of clean water, 5 new classrooms, new teachers, sports programmes, health screening for the community, free lunch for the pupils and for the first time, clean and safe latrines. This year we will expand our work to establish a sign language unit at the school, a micro finance program and a mobile cataract surgery unit in order to help to develop the economic, health and social structures in the area. Our work is only possible with the help from donors so we are ever grateful for any support!
