    Story

Everglow is a Health and Wellbeing group set up by Beann Mhadagain FC in the wake of the sudden loss of our dear friend Francis McStravick.

In the weeks and months since his passing many of his friends and fellow team mates got together to put in place a lasting legacy.

The story behind the logo helps explain what the group is about.

The logo represents Life! The focal point of our logo is the tree which represents “the tree of life”.“The person” in the picture symbolises someone seeking help or aid, the tree provides these individuals that aid through “the ball of light”.

Our main aim and focus is to work with those in our club, the surrounding community and our fellow competitors to raise awareness of positive mental health and sign post those who need some help and advice to the organisations and support which exists within our community.

Some of the Everglow team members have completed ASIST Training (Applied Suicide Intervention Skill Training. ) along with similar courses such as SAFETALK to help recognise signs for those who made need help but cant speak up. We hope to continue to train more team members in the coming months using some of the money raised.

Our Strategy for doing this is

“Identify and help to remove any barriers which negatively impact a positive culture around mental health within our community"

“Work in partnership with and support local organisations to ensure a strong foundation for positive health and wellbeing exists within the club and our community at all times."

“Implement an annual strategy for promoting positive health and wellbeing”

We will also work with youth teams across our community to raise awareness around the impact of bullying, the dangers of social media, nutrition and exercise and the importance of looking out for each other.

Many Thanks for All Your Support!
