In September 2018, my beautiful friend Caitlin experienced a blood clot in the brain which subsequently led to a stroke. Considering her lifestyle as a sporty and happy 17 year old, nobody would’ve thought anything like this could happen to her. With just over 2 weeks of being in hospital Caitlin is now home and making a gradual, but hopefully, full recovery. However, without the help from the staff at the Neurological department at Southampton Hospital, it may have all ended in a different story. I will be running the ‘Larmer 10’ on the 9th of march 2019 to raise funds for the Hospital. With little experience of running this distance before my training starts now!
