    Story

Evie was diagnosed with a brain tumour (Craniopharyngioma) early this month. This was flagged up during her first visit to the opticians that resulted in us finding out she was blind in her left eye. We were sent through lots of tests at the local hospital and were told after her MRI that she had a brain tumour. We were sent straight to Alder Hey Hospital that night and 6 days later she was on the operating table having life saving brain surgery to take the fluid out of the cyst surrounding her tumour. We have now been sent home for some respite while the swelling in her brain calms down and waiting to go back to Alder Hey on the 9th November to see whether we can start chemo therapy the following week or failing that she will have to undergo a bigger brain surgery to remove as much as possible of the tumour and cyst. This will mean that we are having to stay with Evie in Liverpool while she undergoes one of these treatments.

Once the above is done we will then have to go over to Florida for further treatment of Proton Radiotherapy and we have been told that we will be there for a minimum of 12 weeks potentially more depending on how Evie responds to the treatment. The cost of living away from home both in Liverpool and in Florida during this time will be expensive and all the travelling back and forth for all the hospital appointments will be running into the thousand.

People have been so kind in organising many fundraising events over the coming weeks/months with details to follow both on here and on Evie's fundraising Facebook page

Fundraising For Evie's Hospital Stay To Remove a Brain Tumour

Please donate anything you can no matter how small it may be to help us look after Evie though this long journey. Thank you to everyone who is working hard within the community to organise fundraiser events for Evie too.
