    Story

I took a trip to Istanbul, and then Sharm El Sheikh in August this year for a short holiday, when we arrived in Sharm El Sheikh we got a taxi from the airport which cost a fortune, and it was clear that the majority of the taxi drivers were taking advantage of the tourists who were new to the place.

Two days in to our break in Sharm, we came across a taxi driver who was obviously trying hard to get customers, we asked him his price, which was VERY reasonable, so we agreed. On our drive back to the hotel we got in to conversation, his English wasnt great but he was trying hard to have a conversation. In this time he talked a great deal about his beliefs in Islam, how dedicated he is to his family and why he is working in Sharm whilst his family lives 8-9 hours away from him.

We used his taxi services for the rest of our holiday in Sharm, he was very very humble, very kind and wore his heart on his sleeve. When he dropped us to the airport he promised to send a message every Friday (Jummah), and he has stuck to his word - every Friday i get a message from him wishing my and my family good health and offering prayers.

Two weeks ago whilst i was at work, i saw that he had called me 16 times on whatsapp and sent me several voice notes and messages asking me to call him as soon as possible as it was an emergency. When i spoke to him he explained that his 6 month old daughter needs to have emergency surgery and he started to beg for £300, which he promised to work over the months to pay back. I sent the money over and wished his daughter well.

Two days later, i followed up with him to see how his daughter is, he said that the operation went well and his daughter is under observation. When i called him the following day, he was very sad and said that his daughter passed away a few hours ago. Despite the sadness in his voice, he felt the need to explain to me that God wanted his daughter and that it was her time to return.

I stayed in touch with him over the next few days and supported him as much as possible, however i came to realise over those few days that his wife is currently pregnant and the baby is due in January.

Now i know some people may be thinking that this person is taking advantage, maybe he isn't telling the truth or maybe he just wants more money - but to be clear, he has not asked for any further financial support for the delivery of this baby, even though it is clear that he cannot afford it.

Therefore, i am trying to raise £500 to support the family and pay for the delivery of his new baby. He has been through a very tough time, and his wife has gone through a huge emotional stress which is very dangerous during pregnancy. Anyone who has children, nieces or nephews knows the love that goes in to a new child of the family, and the majority of us can only imagine the hard time these people are going through losing 1 of their 3 children, whilst expecting another - with this donation i hope we can take away the financial stress also.

Any donation amount will help, and i can personally guarantee that every penny will go directly to the family. If you have any questions of requests then please get in touch with me directly and i will be happy to answer.

I thank you in advance for your help and the time taken to read this story.
