Story
We are raising £500 to open a "Drop-in Centre for the homeless"
OUR NEW PROJECT
The drop-in Centre will offer services to those experiencing homelessness and we will strive to aid all who seek help. The Drop-in Centre will be a place where they can come and have a hot meal, coffee and tea, toiletries and clothes. We will also will offer advice and help on issues around homelessness, including drugs, alcohol and psychological support offered on a professional level. We need donations to keep this project.
We are a registered UK Charity No.1176000
Our Charity run solely by volunteers, we gather once a week, every Tuesdays at 7:00pm at The Strand - Charing Cross and our guests are there already queuing up for the delicious sandwiches made by our volunteer Webber, we feed around 100 - 120 people with sandwiches, variety of cakes & biscuits, fruits, tea, coffee and hot chocolate made with love and care by our volunteer Maria. We distribute clothes & toiletries, around the year and on winter season we distributed hats, gloves, scarfs and sleeping bags. “for some, the tea and sandwiches we serve are their first and maybe the only food on the day” heartbroken!
Sleeping rough on the street of London is frightening, demoralising and isolating. More than 8.000 people slept rough on London's streets during 2015/16. The number has more than doubled over the last five years, and nearly trebled over the last ten years, with 188% increase.
By donating to our charity you'll be making a vital difference to the lives of homeless people and we can ensure our Drop-in Centre will provide the help they need.
