Story
Families Against Knives was set up after a family member was brutally murdered in a knife attack. As a way of dealing with our grief and in a bid to make the streets a safer place for our children, we reached out to others that have been affected by knife crime. We are committed in our campaign to break the respect around the carrying and use of knives.
Statistics show that:
Every week 11 people are murdered on our streets
4 of those people are stabbed to death (O.N.S.2017)
Of the 571 murders in the UK last year, 37% of them were by knife or other sharp instrument
This is nothing short of an epidemic
Families Against Knives proposes:
-Carrying a knife = 5 years in prison
-Use of a knife = life sentence
-A life sentence means life
We need help from the public to become a registered charity. We need funds to buy and sell merchandise; to produce promotional and educational videos; to promote, mobilise and carry out a march on parliament. We need to raise awareness and get the word out there!
Families Against Knives believes that with public support it can bring about change and help prevent this dreadful epidemic from tearing families apart. Our family has suffered the tragedy of losing a loved one to knife crime; we want to prevent other families from suffering the same fate.
Any donations great or small will help us in our endeavour.
Through great adversity comes strength
Through the struggle comes the calm
Through the darkness comes the light
Through the storm comes a brighter day
