Story
Our callers, workshop leaders and musician have generously contributed their work and time throughout the pandemic, boosting morale and enabling us to participate in and reflect on the dancing we do and the dance community to which we belong.
They have purchased Zoom licenses and upgraded technology, and dedicated the time to improving their virtual offerings. Callers have adapted dances and edited recordings. Panellists have agreed webinar agendas and practiced their skills. Meticulously planned caller workshops have included advance preparation for the participants and/or post-workshop evaluation.
We invite you to recognise what they have done for us all and contribute to this tip jar. The FCSH is a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers and funded by membership subscriptions. We do not receive any funding from national folk organisations or other institutions. We require a flow of income to cover our minuscule running costs and to recognise the costs incurred by the talented and dedicated people who make our programme possible, which would previously been met by ticket sales to real events.
Because of the way that the crowdfunding platform works for not-for-profit organisations that are not registered charities, the funding has to be run through an individual and her/his bank account. As chairperson, I promise that all funds received (less the processing fees taken by JustGiving) will be transferred into the FCSH account and spent rewarding our callers and workshop leaders.
