    Story

This special charity has been set up by Fi's family and friends, in memory of Fi Braidwood, from Banwell, North Somerset. Fi died aged 17 at Southmead Hospital on the 30th of March 2016, following a car accident in which she sustained a serious head injury.

On the 19th of May 2019, Fi's sister Ally, and her friends in Manchester will be running the Manchester Half Marathon. This will be the day before what would have been Fi's 21st birthday.

It's been almost three years since Fi passed away, leaving so many broken hearts behind, and although we are anxious for the upcoming race, we are empowered knowing that Fi would have risen to the challenge.

The Braidwood family are in the process of developing Fiona's Enrichment Education Support (FEES) Fund. This charity aims to enable young people to enrich their learning – both locally where Fi herself grew up, and further afield at Durham University where Fi had ambitions of studying.

Fi loved learning and participated in many enrichment activities that built her confidence, resilience and helped her to achieve academically. This fund will be available to young people and groups of young people who want to pursue enrichment activities – helping to remove any financial barriers and support them as they follow their dreams and reach their potential.

We hope that providing financial support in the form of grants will enable children and young people to gain learning experiences that will help them gain confidence, build resilience, develop skills and talents, and enable them to follow a passion.

Applications for the fund will be made via the website, and recipients will be encouraged to share their stories about the impact the bursary has had on their life to help promote and encourage future applications.

Fi's family are extremely grateful for any contributions towards FEES fund. Thank you x
