At Easter I am travelling out to Nepal with a group of my school friends. Since 2000 our school, Birkdale has been raising funds to build a school in a deprived village in the Katmandu Valley. This school is now thriving and has 300 pupils. The purpose of our visit is to teach English to the school children and the age group I have been given are the 4 year olds. We will also be visiting and helping a nearby Leprosy colony. In preparation for our trip we have spent a week at school eating only Dhal Bhat , the staple food of the Nepalese! I am hoping to raise funds to take out educational supplies as there are also two other schools that we will be helping while we are there .
