Kenya is a remarkable developing country; however, forty two percent of its population live below the poverty line, with sixty four percent not having adequate sanitation. Many children are orphaned due to AIDS and so cannot get in to school as the cost of education is high. Only 57% of children are in education with only 1 in 3 completing education.

The money raised will help me pay for my trip to Kenya with Younique Travel Adventures (YTA) and some will also go directly towards the projects via YOUnite foundation which is YTA's partner charity. While in Kenya we will visit two schools - Melon Chosen Community Mission - which has 520 children aged 3-13 based in the slums of Nakuru, and Silver Bells which has 100 children aged 2-8 based in the rural area of Nakuru. In each school we will support the children through teaching them lessons and the main focus will be on looking after the environment. We will also be able to help cook and dish out meals, do low scale maintenance such as cleaning gutters, digging, painting, sports and providing them with donations such as medicine and clothing.

Without volunteers the project has no stable income to maintain the schools therefore the money raised will have a hugely positive impact on the children's lives and will allow them to stay in education and live a happy life which they deserve.
