I have been selected to join a team of 5 other Girl Guide leaders on a GOLD project this year to the Maldives.
Guiding Overseas Linked with Development (GOLD) enables young women to develop their potential and make a difference in the world.
The Maldives GOLD project aims:
1) To assist in retention of current leaders
2) To strengthen the MGGA training team
3) To develop the Young Leader Section
4) To develop confidence, leadership and decision making in girls
It is hoped that through the implementation of the above aims, the GOLD project will be able to improve the external image of Maldives Girl Guides Association.
The project will take place around July/August and will last for 3 weeks.
The funding covers the costs of the trip and also the briefing weekends I will have to attend which are nearly 5 hours away from where I am!
