    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

    Story

Beautiful Ella is a member of our dance school. She has cerebal palsy and spends her time in a wheelchair but that has never stopped this little firecracker! She has grit, determination, a huge heart and a smile as wide as any you will ever see. She goes into her dance classes and gets out of her chair and, on her knees, ahe dances with everything she's got.

Many of you will have seen her in the Hannah Alexandra Annual Show. She steals our hearts every year. There's never a dry eye in the house. How could there be when you watch this little girl, despite her difficulties, fill the stage with auch joy in her perfomance. When she was asked to 'Shake Her Tail Feather' boy did she shake it! She was the lead in a Musical Theatre Festival Group where she was truly the Leader of the Pack in Bad Guys. You can probably tell how much we all love her for her indominatable spirit and infectious laugh. All through the Annual Show she sits patiently at the side of the stage waiting for her moment in the spotlight and all the while she claps and cheers her dancing friends. This kid doesn't moan or complain - she is our lucky star, our HA mascot.

Ella's Mum is Lucy. She is wonderful. She has Ella and also Connor. Now Connor has profound disabilities and Lucy not only cares for Ella but also for her beautiful Con. He is like a fragile flower and needs a lot of love and specialist care and Lucy provides this in buckets, tirelessly, without complaint whilst their Daddy goes out to work. When he comes home he helps out too. There is not a lot of down time for these two superstar parents. They adore their kids. Money is tight as there is only one wage coming in and whilst there is some financial help from Social Services it is seriously underfunded and doesn't cover extras. They get by on hard work and lots and lots of love.

Ella went back to school yesterday and she came home really sad. It was the first time her being 'different' had really hit her. She cried and told her Mum she wished she could walk and ride a scooter or a bike like her friends. Lucy's heart was absolutely broken because obviously it is not something she could put right and she asked on Facebook if anyone who knew Ella could cheer her up by sending her a Birthday card as it is her Birthday this weekend. Ella loves to open cards.

I sat up most of the night broken hearted for Ella and gutted for Lucy because as a Mum we all want to take away any hurt from our kids. So I did a bit of online research and found that there were special bikes for special children like Ella called Tomcats. They have to be custom made and cost approximately £3.000 each - which is why Ella doesn't have one. There is no way that they can afford to pay that for a bike. I doubt many of us could. I know I couldn't! Now Lucy would never ask for anything. That is not in her nature but I was so sad for our lovely Ella that I thought we could surely all spare a couple of pounds to make her dream come true. I'd love to put a smile back on Ella's face and to ease the heart ache Lucy is feeling at not being able to give Ella what ahe wants.

So will you help me to raise the monies to buy Ella a bike so that she can feel like her school friends. Riding a bike is something we all take for granted - it is such a little thing but to Ella it would mean the world.

I am a family friend and part of the dance school Ella attends - Hannah Alexandra Dance. Ella means so much to all of us at HA dance and we all admire her Mummy Lucy because she puts so much into her two gorgeous children and leaves so little time for herself.
