Weʼve raised £465 to replace the roof of the Fleur de Lys FC clubhouse at Drayton Park after the recent arson attack badly damaged the roof and electrics

Story
Two teenage boys took it upon themselves to try and burn the Drayton Park clubhouse down and ruin football for the 400 players we have in the club 😡 there is now a gaping hole in the roof, electrical and water damage throughout.
If it wasn’t for the person who called the fire brigade and the brigades quick response to getting there we would have lost the whole club, it was less than 5 minutes away from completely going up.
The two boys have been arrested but the clubhouse will be out of action for some time whilst it dries out, damage is assessed and we start to try and put it all back together yet again as a voluntary organisation.

6 years agoWe are absolutely smashing this, totally overwhelmed with support both within and outside the club - £10,260 now in the pot! The insurers have repaired the roof and the electrics and internals are almost complete so we should be up and running in days.. With the funds we are raising we will be able to completely replace the roof so it’s no longer made of timber or easily damaged and may also be able to get a storage unit for goals etc to clear space, allowing us to paint and make better use inside. 6 years agoJust 6 weeks on we have raised £6500 with 3 fundraising events held and sponsor money from the players run still coming in! The insurers have now repaired the roof with repairs to electrics and internals underway, we should be back up and running in a couple of weeks. With the funds we are raising we should be able to completely replace the roof early next year so it’s no longer made of timber and easily damaged. Thankyou all again for your continued support, we will keep you updated with further funds raised.
