Story
Most of us are affected in one way or another by Cancer. Darren was in his early 30’s, newlywed, with a child under 2 (Archie) and another on the way. He was taken suddenly with little warning, and sadly never got to meet his baby daughter Grace.
This was without a doubt the saddest time that many of my friends and i have ever been through.
His story is tragic. He was so young and so in love with his wife Kate. He was a natural Dad and so excited about having a second child. His whole life should have been ahead of him.
He was a very popular local lad, who worked hard, loved a party and was a great footballer - something that he wanted to experience together with his son as he grew up.
Im raising money to donate to the Margaret Kerr unit, where Daz was cared for in his final days, and also to donate to Lauder Football Club, where he played and hopefully his son archie will play too.
i have decided to Grow both my beard and my hair, for 6 months, to raise £1000 to split between the two causes.
So until The 6th August, i wont cut the length on either in order to look as ridiculous as i can and earn your donations in Daz’s memory.
Any amount is greatly appreciated, large or small.
Thanks for your help.
For Daz.
a couple of caveats....
im reserving the right to;
1) trim my neck and throat hair 2) trim the very top edges on my cheeks (as they grow quite unevenly) and 3) trim my moustache (i still need to be able to kiss the mrs and drink a pint)
other than that im going full on hobo!
